Which Companies Are in Our Sample?
Our dataset includes 1,100+ companies that post jobs on public career pages, from early-stage startups to established players like Databricks, DoorDash, Waymo, and Anthropic. The sample is curated toward venture-backed and technology-driven businesses across SaaS, fintech, healthtech, AI, e-commerce, and other high-growth sectors. It is not a representative sample of the entire US labor market; it reflects hiring patterns among innovative, fast-moving companies specifically.
Methodology
Data from twice-weekly scrapes of public career pages. US roles only. Change metrics use paired intersection bootstrap (1,000 resamples, 80% CI) comparing each scrape date to a fixed baseline, controlling for changes in which companies are tracked.
The "Share of All Jobs" and "% Companies Hiring" charts show raw values, which can exhibit step changes when large companies join the dataset mid-series. The change-from-baseline chart uses bootstrapped estimates that are robust to these single-company effects.
