Agent access · Reliability and controls
Which BI tools show what an outside agent changed?
3 of 15 tools do, according to their public docs, and 10 partly.
Yes: Looker, Power BI, Metabase. Partly: Databricks, Snowflake, Omni, Hex, Sigma, BigQuery, Tableau, Alteryx, MotherDuck, Mode.
The question we asked: Can a reviewer see a diff of what an outside agent changed in a governed analytical asset?
Grading standard
A reviewer can see a before/after diff of changes an outside agent made to a governed analytical asset. A generic publish or change diff is partly; yes needs the documentation to show it covers changes made by an outside agent.
Databricks
Partly
Quoted from Databricks’s docsWhen committing dashboard changes to Git, queries and text box content now appear across multiple lines in the diff, making changes easier to review.

Power BI
Yes
Quoted from Power BI’s docs- Work in PBIP files under Git. Power BI Project (PBIP) files store your model as plain text, so Git tracks every change the agent makes. You get a diff to review before you commit, and a way to revert if the result isn't what you wanted.
